Korean startups will get a chance to meet some potential VCs and investors at the 2016 Investor Day at the G-Valley Convention Center on November 14th. It is being organized to help up and coming Korean startups that are looking to enter into the global market and attack investments. The organizers behind this event is KOTRA and the Korea Venture Business Association. It is being promoted as “Guro Meets Venture Businesses” and there will be many prominent venture capitalists from Silicon Valley and groups of Korean investors as well. The Korean market can only take companies so far, those that are looking to go global could find great opportunities at this event.

Vitaly M. Golomb deals with all investments at HP Tech Ventures. He is a Silicon Valley-based investor, serial entrepreneur, keynote speaker, and acclaimed designer. Vitaly is also a contributing writer to TechCrunch and author of the upcoming book: Accelerated Startup – The New Business School. Vitaly is passionate about improving society by nurturing entrepreneurship travels to over 20 countries every year as a keynote speaker, and is a consistently top-ranked mentor at a number of startup accelerator programs in US, Europe, and Asia.
Roger King is the CEO of Chief People which helps technology companies at both the executive level and the individual contributor level. They are the creators of a Project-Based Recruitment Solution that is both an efficient and cost effective approach to outsourcing staffing needs. Some of their clients include SoftBank Robotics, Gracenote, Jiff, and Vendi.
Jon Staenberg has more than a decade of experience working with venture backed companies and has made over 100 deals. He has consulted with over 50 startups and is considered one of the most experienced venture capitalists in the Pacific Northwest, having raised two funds totaling over $100 million. During the last eight years, he has been engaged in business planning, business development, financial planning and fundraising, recruiting and mergers and acquisitions work for a variety of Silicon Valley and Seattle-based startups.
Dr. Andreas Birnik
Andreas is an entrepreneur in the technology space with close to 20-years experience of driving innovation and generating growth by launching new companies, new products/services and entering new markets. Andreas has the ability to place new, unknown products with premium retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, Hudson News, Staples, Barnes & Noble, Target, Virgin Megastores and Walmart. He has raised significant venture capital, led both sell-side and buy-side M&A, including exits at substantial returns to investors.
Erik Ford has helped build businesses from zero to $150MM+ in revenue, with venture and growth equity upwards of $45MM. Erik is currently the US Corporate Development Lead and Venture Partner for GMO Internet Group, focusing on Private Equity in FinTech, Enterprise SaaS, AI/ML/DL, AutoTech, and infrastructure partnerships and investments. He has a strong passion in investing in scalable opportunities that change the game.
Shawn Flynn found great success conducting business in China. He spent 4 years in Beijing, where he founded and grew a profitable education
company. After moving to Silicon Valley he has been heavily involved in the startup community, collaborating with such companies and groups as: Bay Angels, Business-Team, E2iacademy. Shawn is currently working towards his dream of helping bridge the gap between Silicon Valley and the rest of the world.
Chang V. Quach
Cang V. Quach is the Managing Partner at Stern Ventures. Mr. Quach has co-founded two startups in the digital publishing and display sectors for mobile devices and holds five U.S. patents. Prior to these ventures, Mr. Quach served as an Equity Research Associate at Dodge & Cox, an investment management firm with over $200 billion in AUM, where he analyzed companies in the cellular, automotive and retail sectors.
